NMC 811 622 532 Precursor
The precursor, in producing material A through a chemical process, is a material at immediately before the final step of becoming material A. A battery precursor is a material at the final step before becoming a cathode, or an ingredient from which a cathode is formed.

Nickel-cobalt-manganese hydroxide is the precursor of lithium nickel-cobalt-manganate cathode material for lithium ion secondary batteries. By adding appropriate manganese sulfate, nickel sulfate or cobalt sulfate into the pure solution of nickel, cobalt and manganese, the molar ratio of nickel, cobalt and manganese elements in the solution is adjusted to 1:1:1, and then the pH is adjusted by adding liquid alkali to obtain nickel, cobalt and manganese hydroxide.
